Commission a work
A church, an iconostasis or an icon is a commission of many years. This is how it begins.

First contact
Write or telephone. I need to know what kind of work you have in mind, where it is, and what stage the space is at.

Visit and study
I visit the site, take measurements and photographs. For a church we discuss the iconographic programme together with the priest or the committee.

Proposal
You receive a plan of the programme, a proposal of manner and style, and a schedule in phases. Large wall paintings are executed in phases, often over several years.

Execution
Work is carried out on site for wall paintings and mosaics, in the workshop for portable icons. You receive photographs at every stage.

Delivery
Handover of the work and instructions for its care.

How long does a commission take?
A portable icon, weeks. The painting of a church, years — and usually in phases, according to the parish’s resources.
How is the cost calculated?
Case by case, based on surface area, technique, materials and time. There is no price list.
Do you accept work outside Attica?
Yes. I have worked in Akrata, Cephalonia and elsewhere.
Do you undertake restoration?
Yes — of icons, iconostases and wall paintings.
